China intimidates its own people, and bullies foreign countries in an attempt to influence how they operate.

Mike Pompeo is right in that, countries should not makes decisions toward China based on national interest, such as trade and tourism. 

New Zealand needs to stand up to bullies like China and not be intimidated and fold for the sake of trade. 

 

Its well known in the intelligence community that China and Russia are constantly interrogating New Zealand networks.

 

Ensure regular penetration testing of your networks, your patching is up to date, with backups of your data in New Zealand and not in some offshore data centre that you have little to no control over and which makes you reliant on international internet connectivity.
